Connect Apple Health
Last checked 16 October 2026
On iPhone, you can connect Apple Health to RIVL. RIVL then imports workouts and health data from the Health app.
Connect
- Go to Profile. Under Connections, tap Connect next to Apple Health.
- Read what RIVL is requesting and tap Continue.
- Choose what RIVL can read in Apple’s own window.
What RIVL reads
- Workouts, including the route.
- Distance and active energy.
- Heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), respiratory rate and VO2 max.
- Sleep.
- Body weight and steps.
RIVL writes nothing to Apple Health.
The first import covers workouts from the last 90 days and daily values from the last 28 days. New data is then imported on an ongoing basis.
Disconnect
Tap Disconnect in the same place. Data already imported stays in RIVL. To remove RIVL’s access completely, also revoke it in your iPhone settings.
Android
On Android, RIVL can read workouts from Health Connect, but only from the last seven days and only workouts that match a campaign you have joined.
The privacy policy explains how the health data is used.
Connected, but data is missing
First check that the activity or measurement exists in Health on the same iPhone, with the correct date. Open the phone's Health settings and check RIVL's read permission for that data type. Open RIVL online and check the data after syncing. Connected status does not confirm that every data type can be read. On Android, check Health Connect permission and that the activity fits the period and campaign. If the result remains unclear, contact support@getrivl.app with the platform, date and visible message. You do not need to send health files or allow more data types than you want.
