File import and Bluetooth: separate troubleshooting
Last checked 15 October 2026
This is supplementary troubleshooting. Button names may vary by language; Norwegian names are quoted where still used. Follow the on-screen status rather than assumptions about the account.
File selected, uploaded, confirmed and processed
Open training-history import and choose the correct source: a FIT/FIT ZIP differs from Garmin Export All Data. Use the web for large archives. After uploading, read the manifest and confirm only the right contents; uploaded is not imported. For validating, open status to check pending confirmation. For processing, follow the same job; for failed, read the error before retrying. For size errors use an appropriate file/archive. Check history/dates when ready; file import does not enable future sync.
Empty scan or only a remembered device
Open My devices in the app, choose machine type and scan. Enable Bluetooth, allow requested device access and wake the machine; scan again. Select the correct device yourself and wait for connection. Remembered devices/auto-reconnect do not mean an active connection. After loss, check and reconnect before relying on measurements. Select a heart-rate strap separately in the session's strap scan. Garmin account connection does not replace Bluetooth.
If unresolved, contact support@getrivl.app with surface, app version, time and visible error. Do not send sign-in codes, identity documents or full health/GPS files in an ordinary request.
