Timing, rest and interruptions in a competition

The buttons quoted here currently use Norwegian text in this part of RIVL. They are written as they appear.

Whether rest counts towards the result depends on your class. A fixed-rest screen is not a general pause button.

What counts towards the time?

Read the competition-page rules before starting:

  • With gross time, total time runs continuously. The competition flow provides no system rest between exercises; time spent switching is part of the running time.
  • With net time, total time stops during the fixed rest configured between exercises. The app may show Total tid stopper i hvile. This does not mean every wait or pause is deducted.
  • If the transition has no rest, the next exercise starts directly. Teams have their own continuous rules and are outside this individual guide.

Mark a finished exercise with Hold inne — Fullfør øvelse. If a rest screen opens, follow the displayed rest. Klar, start neste ends it early; otherwise the app advances when rest ends. Official start/finish-window time is distinct from the net scored time.

Can I pause or leave the app?

The individual competition flow has no general pause-and-resume function. Switching apps, taking a call or locking the screen is not a confirmed pause and does not guarantee unchanged timing or a recovered attempt. Do not use these actions as a pause method.

Avbryt økt asks for confirmation. Nei lets you continue; Ja, avbryt ends the attempt. Aborting does not save an official result or automatically grant another attempt. Partial saving belongs to the separate training mode.

I finished an exercise too early

After switching exercises, Angre (tilbake til …) may appear briefly. It is available only while shown, with an already completed exercise and a session still in progress. It can return to the previous exercise while the next one is running.

Check that the screen actually returns before treating the switch as corrected. The button can also take you back from the fixed rest period. The finish screen after the final exercise does not have the same undo button. This action does not let you edit a submitted or locked result.

If the switch is not corrected, note the exercise and screen. Do not submit an incorrect recording as accurate. Raise it with the organiser; see Another attempt if needed.

Unexpected timing or interruption

Contact support with the competition, class, app version, affected exercises, whether the screen showed work/rest/finish, and any error. For an app switch or call, say when it happened. This can clarify the rule and save status; support cannot promise manual time correction or another attempt. Timing happens in the app, not on web.
